Setup Guide
Everything on this page is written out in text, step by step. No video, no diagram you have to squint at.
Before your first night
Do these two things when the band arrives, before you rely on it:
- Charge it. Bands ship partly charged, and a flat battery is the most common reason an alarm does not go off.
- Set the time, then set one alarm and watch it fire. Set an alarm two minutes ahead and keep the band on your wrist until it buzzes. Now you know what it feels like, and you know it works, before it matters.
Charging
- Slide the module out of the silicone strap. The strap is meant to come apart; hold the strap in one hand and push the module out from the underside.
- You will see a flat USB-A connector on the end opposite the button.
- Plug that connector straight into a USB-A port, the same way you would plug in a memory stick. A laptop port, a power bank or a phone charger head all work. Charge it from any standard USB-A port; no wall adapter is included in the box.
- Leave it until the display shows a full battery. Buyers report a full charge in about half an hour; allow a few hours if the band was completely flat.
- Slide the module back into the strap.
Keep the connector clean and dry, and never charge the band while it is damp.
Finding the button
There is one button, and it is under the silicone next to the display, so it is easy to miss at first. Look for the small ridges moulded into the band beside the screen — that is the spot. You press through the silicone; you do not need to take the module out to use it.
The whole band is driven by that one button, in two ways:
- Short press — move to the next thing.
- Long press — open what you are looking at, or confirm it.
Setting the time and date
- Short press until the display shows the time.
- Long press until the digits start flashing.
- Short press to move the flashing number up.
- Long press to confirm that number and move to the next one.
- Repeat until the date is done. The band returns to the normal display on its own.
The numbers count up in one direction only. If you go past the one you wanted, keep pressing and it comes back around.
Setting an alarm
- Short press until you reach the alarm display.
- Long press until the hour flashes.
- Short press to change the hour, then long press to confirm.
- Short press to change the minutes, then long press to confirm.
The band holds more than one alarm, and each one is set exactly the same way — step through to the next alarm slot and repeat. Alarms repeat every day at the time you set. There is no way to set an alarm for particular days of the week only.
Turning an alarm off
Buyers report that the way to switch an alarm off is to run its time down to 00:00: open that alarm and keep pressing until the display reaches zero, and the band will ask you to confirm. This is the step people most often miss, which is why an alarm they thought they had cancelled still goes off.
To stop an alarm that is buzzing right now, press the button.
Switching what the display shows
A short press moves through the displays: time, date, steps and calories. The screen stays dark until you press, which is deliberate — it will not light up your bedroom during the night.
To reset the step counter, go to the step display and long press.
Wearing it so it actually wakes you
Vibration is felt through the wrist, so wear the band snug; a loose band can be slept through. A band that slides around on your forearm spreads the vibration into the mattress instead of into your skin, and that is the single most common reason someone sleeps through it.
- Wear it one notch tighter at night than you would during the day — firm, not uncomfortable.
- Keep it on the wrist bone, not halfway up the forearm.
- If you sleep on that arm, put the band on the other wrist. A wrist pinned under your body muffles the buzz.
Give yourself two or three nights. Most people wake to it immediately, but a few need a couple of mornings to learn the signal.
Looking after it
- Splashes and rain are fine. Do not shower with it, do not swim in it, and do not put it under water.
- Take the module out of the strap before you wash the strap, and let both dry fully before putting them back together.
- Charge it on a routine — say, every other Sunday — rather than waiting for it to die.
- This is a consumer wake-up device, not a hearing aid and not a diagnostic tool.
If something is not working
The alarm did not go off
Check the battery first, then check the alarm is still set — an alarm that was run down to 00:00 is switched off. If both look right, the band was probably too loose. See the wearing section above.
It will not turn on
Plug it into a USB-A port and leave it there. A completely flat band can take a while before the display responds at all.
The display is frozen or not responding
Press the button firmly through the silicone — a soft tap often does not register. If it is still stuck, hold the button for ten seconds or more to reset it, then charge it.
The step count looks wrong
Wear the band snug and on the wrist. Arm movement that is not walking, and a band that swings loose, both throw the count off.
The buzz feels short
It is meant to be a distinct pulse, not a long rumble. If you are a heavy sleeper, wear it tighter and put it on the arm you do not sleep on.
Still stuck?
Send us a message from our contact page and tell us what the display is doing. We usually reply within a few hours.
